Oklahoma state college football game of the week: Southern Nazarene at East Central

Southern Nazarene at East Central

*When: 6 p.m. Saturday

*Where: Norris Field, Ada

*Records: Southern Nazarene is 0-1 after its 63-21 loss to Great American Conference favorite Henderson State (Ark.). East Central is 0-1, losing a 33-3 decision to Northwest Missouri State, the No. 3-ranked team in NCAA Division II.

*All-time series: East Central leads 1-0. The Tigers beat Southern Nazarene 37-30 in overtime during the 2008 season. East Central trailed 24-0 at halftime.

*Scouting report: Southern Nazarene was 9-3 and Central States Football League champion last season, but it has dropped two consecutive games, dating back to a first-round NAIA playoff loss to Mid-America Nazarene (Kan.). The SNU defense recovered two fumbles and intercepted two passes against Henderson State last week, one interception returned 35 yards for a touchdown by Stan West. East Central defensive back Norris Wrenn had 12 tackles ? best among all GAC defenders ? against Northwest Missouri State. Both teams are breaking in new quarterbacks, junior Dylan Terry for SNU and sophomore Cody Miller for East Central.
